Audio hacks

Mmmk! Here is what I want to do! I run Slackware 9.0 with 2.4.20 Kernel, and have 2 questions.. I run the C-Media onboard 6-ch sound on Iwill XP333:

Under the make menuconfig kernel config, I think there is a way

to make your mic port an output port, but I think it might just be

for BASS. Is it? Also, I want to play Unreal tounament and run Ventrilo / Roger Wilco under VMware, but in order to run UT with sound, it uses /dev/dsp .. so I guess I want to know if I can run 2 programs from /dev/dsp.. for example have the audio output from UT and vmware on my speakers.. OR is there a way to make a new device (or use a existing device) to make a SECOND output. for example.. make the Mic input an output for like.. /dev/dsp3 (/dev/dsp2 is my USB Mic from my webcam, and I'll use that for Audio input!).. so then i can hook up a pair of non-noise reducing headphones to my mic input and listen to VMware output (ventrilo/roger wilco) and hear UT2003 on my external speakers! Sounds good ehh? Well let me know what I can do! Thanks!

I'll be playing UT2003 native on Linux, and Ventrilo / Roger Wilco on VMware.
