audio cdrecord...followed tut. cd no play.

anyone have a suggestion?

I followed this tutorial to burn a cd.

I converted them to .wav with the cl, I ran the commmand to check the output, I normalized the .wav files and then burned the cd.

My cd player won't read it though.......it tries to (i hear what sounds like something trying the same thing over and over again) but never works. am i doing the right things? is there another tutorial I can try? this was my first try at burning an audio cd w/linux.

I use jamd also and I use cli to burn a lot of stuff, but not audio cd's. The version of k3b that comes with jamd is quite decent, try that unless you are hell-bent on cli.

Hi,
If you are using Xcdroast or another GUI application, I am more lost than you are.
If you are using the command line-
What is the output when you type <cdrecord -scanbus> as root?
What is the actual command you are using to preform the write?
Are you getting any error messages during the write, and if so could you post them?
If you are trying to turn the making of coasters into a cottage industry, I do not need the competition.

try k3b, it is the best of all gui recorders imho and very easy to use.

Alternatively, you can check out this:

An excellent application created by a resident of LQ :) Runs in the command line, and if you would like, you can take a look at the source and see how it converts/burns audioCD's and adapt that to your needs.

Cool
