Attachment size in Sendmail

Hi,

I have Redhat Linux 8.x. It is configured as SMTP server for my Organization.

I would like to know how can I restrict attachments based on its size, so that no one can send any mail which has attachmet size of more then 1MB

Regards,
Raja

I think maximum email size is specified somewhere in your configuration, not as attachment size.

If your using Sendmail, you should find this setting labeled as:

confMAX_MESSAGE_SIZE

And usually at times the default is already set to 2000000 or 2MB

Here is a kick in the hopes someone might stumble on post #4.

He asked this question in the thread http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=160861 which was unfortunately closed as a duplicate question. While RajaRC asked the question in that thread here, "how to block attachments based upon its extension such as *.gif or *.zip using sendmail", as an addon/followup response without mention in the title, it is not surprising no one has responded here with an inappropriate subject. It was not immediate either. Though at least you can get here from there.
