ATI RADEON vs NVIDIA GeForce in linux environment

Which is better for playing OpenGL games? I never had experience with ATI before but I wonder how well is it. Lots of manufactures are going ATI for their high end laptops ( at least at where I came from).

if your using linux, i think it would be best to go with NVIDIA, there driver support, not to mention quality is much better than ATI.

Well, I'm an NVIDIA freak, but I have to say that ATI does make a few nice cards... It only took them forever to do it. But where NVIDIA shines and ATI sucks is drivers. NVIDIA has done wonders with their drivers (in both windows and linux and mac) and ATI's drivers just suck (in all three). Although, while ATI still makes some nice cards, NVIDIA's are overall better and a lot cheaper. So stay with NVIDIA, if not for the the card, for the drivers. :-)

P.S. Sorry if this was a tad incoherant, I'm really tired right now.
