is it true that no one has managed to use opengl under linux with a ati card?

At least in the past, getting ATI cards to work properly under Linux could be a difficult task, as ATI's level of Linux support was debatable. Not impossible, but for some people (myself included) it ended up being far more difficult than it needed to be. Perhaps that was due to user error on my part, but regardless, on a more positive note I've that these days ATI's Linux support has gotten better. Speaking only for myself though, it's pretty much water under the bridge for me, as I've switched entirely to nVidia cards. Again, strictly my 2 cents, YMMV
