Are there any free linux email accounts where I can use kmail?

Sorry if this isn't really the place to ask for this. I would like an email account, but any user name section that i like, if that is what you call it, is either taken or is filled with junk mail.
Typically I do very well with email, and don't get any junk mail.
I don't care to use msn, yahoo, aol, gmail, google (not sure if google is gmail or not).
I thought it'd be cool to have a linux to it, like @linuxmail.org, but I have to pay to get mail using KMail.

So, are there any free email accounts that may have "linux" or "mandrake/mandriva" as the ending section (past the @ part)?

Check your internet connection provider. They usually bundle some e-mail address accessible with IMAP/POP with DSL/dial-up plans.
Maybe you already have an address and don't even know, like I did :)

google is gmail and it has pop3, but no linux is the name :(

i gave myself an invite for gmail to use for work recently. The email address it gave me was googlemail.com which sucks as i prefer gmail.com

Both email addresses I registered for has the POP3 feature, but they require you to pay for that.
It's not like I'm cheap, it's just that what I have now is no extra charge. It's just that the email addresses I want, or could live with, are filled with junk or taken.

Does GMail have free pop3 access?

Boy, am I tired. I reread what you said. Yes, my internet provider supplies email and it does have the pop3, that's what I've been using for ages, it's just what I mentioned earlier, I'd like an email address, but its filled with junk. I tried to filter it out, but kmail is either confusing or buggy.

i have forgotten where i have seen it but, i remember seeing an advertisement that would let you entirely let you pick your own e-mail addy.
example: pimp@pimphaus.net or linuxguru@linuxpalace.com
yahoo used to have it and so did other places. keep looking.
good luck
