Are Red Hat precompiled modules (.o) compatible with Fedora?

Hi people,
I need to use a software package called Leda which source code is not distributed.
The Leda software package is distributed as precompiled modules (.o) for Red Hat 8, Suse 8 and Mandrake 9. However, I've recently installed de Fedora Core 2. Is there any way of using precompiled modules for other distributions in Fedora?
Technically, what's the difference between precompiled codes for different distributions? Isn't the machine code the same since sources are compiled for the same instruction set (i386)?
Are the Linux API's so different between distributions?

Thank you very much for the attention
