Apt-Get question
 

I just need a little help here, I have been using Synaptic for installing stuff as I was under the impression that it is basically a graphical frontend to apt but the past day or two, while things have been downloading via Synaptic, I have been using apt-cache search in the terminal to look for things while waiting but when I go back to Synaptic to install them some items get errors and when I search in Synaptic there's nothing there. Am I missing something?

Anyway, I'm afraid I'm not too sure what you're saying the problem is :/ What are the errors, for a start?

By errors I mean it says that whatever I'm trying to install is not found so then I search but it's blank and says no package selected. But when I search for the same thing via apt-cache search it will bring up a few programs.
