So I"m new here and immediately constantly seeking / requesting help via replies and making threads as well.

I just wanted to go ahead and apologize for this as I'm new as it is, so I don't have anything to offer as my way of giving back. Also since I'm having so many technical issues with this setup, I've had no choice but to repeatedly seek help..

Looking at your posting history, I'm not sure what you are actually apologising for?

I think you should remember that when someone is completely new to something, I'd think it reasonable to assume that you may well have many questions about it. I remember when I first started with Linux, it took me probably 2 hours to figure out that if I wanted to see all folders in the file system hierarchy, all I needed to do was type "cd /" and THEN "ls" in the terminal, but I was so used how to do things in Windows, that it took me about 2 hours to realize that what I knew about Windows for the very most part was unless in Linux. Then I felt like an idiot. It's your subconscious that's tricking you, and it's hard to get past that to begin with. It also depends on how fast or slow you learn - everyone is different in that respect.

While I don't have anywhere near as many questions about Linux these days, as I once did, I still learn things myself here. So don't worry about it, honestly.

Asking questions isn't something to apologise for as long as they are reasonable questions intelligently posed. The questions you need to ask yourself before you post are:

1) Have I googled this and come to a dead end? Have I looked at the relevant man pages?

2) Does my post have an informative title and have I included enough information to allow people to know if they can help me at all?

and afterwards...

3) Did I carry out the tests that were suggested and report the results back?

4) Have I marked the question as solved (if it was) and said thank you?

5) Have I learned something?

Some of the people who post in this forum really should apologise for the way they do it, but you probably don't need to.

My propensity to respond is generally inversely proportional to the rate of questions, and directly proportional to the willingness to contribute. So you're making the right noises ...

Asking questions is the way to learn, & we all started out knowing very little about Linux, so ask away.

All we ask of you is that perhaps you can help a newbie, once you have an understanding of it, because a lot of us forget what it's like being that newbie.
