apcupsd - power off UPS problem

Hi all,

I installed apcupsd on Mandrake 10.1. The UPS is APC Backup-UPS XS 1000.

For testing, I set the TIMEOUT configuration in apcupsd.conf to 30 and restart apcupsd.

The apcupsd shutdown the machine properly after I unplugged the UPS power plug but the UPS failed to power off.

I stop the apcupsd service and run the lower level test 'apctest'. When I perform the 'Test Kill UPS Power', it performed OK and the UPS was powered off.

Any idea why the apcupsd cannot power off the UPS completely in non-test mode.
