Angry

WARNING: Newbie who may make you angry with his Linux stupidity!

That having been said, I'm having trouble configuring Apache virtual hosting. I'll start from the beginning.

I installed Red Hat 7 server system (apache 1.3.12 is automatically installed). I am hosting the server over my cable modem. The IP address of the cable modem is (not really this, just an example) 11.22.33.44. I have a router, and the internal IP address is 192.168.1.105 (I dont think this matters but it might). I have port 80 forwarding configured to point to that specific computer on my network. My main website works.

Now here's my problem:

I have one domain name, http://www.domainone.com (not the actual name). This is the main website.

I have another domain name, http://www.domaintwo.com that is pointed to the same IP address and port as the first one. I want to configure apache so that requests for domaintwo.com get served different pages. In other words, I want to set up different DocumentRoot folders for the two servers.

Is this possible, esp. with this version of Apache (1.3.12)?
I have looked at many tutorials on this and haven't been able to get it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
KMac

Wink

Yes,.. this is called virtual hosting with same IP address
If you go with more than one domain then you need to enable the virtual hosts in the bottom of your httpd.conf

Ok thanks.

I did what you said and it didn't work (at first) then I realized that the IP address of the server itself is different than the IP address of the cable modem I am using (I'm using a router).

Thanks again
KMac
