apache died HELP (errno:13)


Does anyone know what:

[error] mod_ssl: Child could not open SSLMutex lockfile /etc/httpd/logs/ssl_mutex.XXXX <System error follows>

Permission denied <errno: 13>

means!

I was trying to get ssl setup and apache is now hosed!

Well its clearly a permission type error. Most likely maybe the file its specifying needs to be executable, etc. Have you checked the permissions of this file?

i Changed them to 777 but i know that is not right. that solved the problem, but does anyone know what the permissions are supposed to be?

Probably want to change them to 755. 777 would give everyone write access to the file. If you set it to 755, you just giving the owner write and everyone else just read and execute permission.
