Question Apache -- Changing requested URL to another name

I want to be able to change a URL inside a web browser after a user enters a site.
Example: user types, user is redirected to new site at, I know I can use headers to allow website to accept, but in the browswer, still appears and I want to be able to change that.
Do I need to use the re-write module?

Thank you.
