Apache and Symbolic Links

I have setup some symbolic links to a set of woody cds on my HDD

ie /var/www/html/woody --> /somewhere/else

however i cannot access these thru my browser, i get the "403 u do not have permission" error.

in my http.conf file i do have the line

"Directory "/var/www/html">
Options Indexes Includes FollowSymLinks"

anyone experienced the same thing or know of an solution??

ed.

Re: Apache and Symbolic Links

Have you checked permissions of the file /somewhere/else?

yes...

the directories have the following permissions ..
rwx rwx r-x

and the owner is merely a user on the machine, not root or apache.
