apache


there is a folder in my /var/www/htdocs called music but i want it only for me when im at skool....how could i make it so that u need a password to open that folder on the web...thanks

See the section in the Apache manual about .htaccess and htpasswd. You didn't specify which version of Apache you're running. Apache 2's manual has a couple of tutorials on authentication, .htaccess, etc. that are pretty thorough in describing how to set this up.

you'd be better served using an ftp server... are you using a windows box at school?

im running apache 1.3.26 on slackware and i just want a folder on my site for certain ppl....so i want it password protected

I could have sworn I already covered that in my first post... But besides, the links I provided should be more than enough information/documentation to get it working.
