VMWare does run on Linux. I use it to host a Win2k guest. There are other solutions as well, such as QEMU or BOSC. However, it's been my experience that VMWare gives you the largest number of possible guests and is quite easy to get up and running with.

win4lin also but i am not sure how stable or well it works.
i hear it has problems with xp due to its size
