Any luck with Nforce2 Promise Sata and kernel 2.6.1?

Anyone had any luck with the nforce2 platform with the Promise 20376 controller and an Sata HD? I downloaded the kernel 2.6.1 and applied the mm-4 patch. I configured it for promise Sata, forcedeth, and all the things that I thought applied to my system. When I boot it, it freezes after :
Uncompressing Linux... Ok, booting the kernel.
It stalls there and I have to reboot. If anyone else had any luck with similar hardware, would you mind sending your config file to me at: jpleve22@hotmail.com
Thanks for any help!
