Question Any HOWTOs about Intel C Compiler??

Anyone knows where I can find some guides or HOWTOs about using ICC instead of gcc with make for routine sources compiling? AFAIK ICC gives about +20% of perfomance, but I'm not a C specialist to manually fix all the code before compiling. I checked Intel support site but without any significant result.
So if you know some tricks to make ICC work with code for gcc I'll be glad to know it. Any links and suggestions are welcome.
