Dont overlook Opera

Opera for Linux has a built in download manager. Its fine if you just need "resume" feature. You can only use it if you use Opera for the download. "ctrl, alt, t " pressed at same time bring up downloader screen. I liked this feature when I used Opera under Windows since Gozilla and many of the downloader manager programs had spyware included at no extra charge and I really only wanted the resume feature, not all the automated crap most download managers have! One suggestion with Opera is that you should ditch the ad window in whatever manner is morally acceptable to you. It really slows down surfing with slow dialup connection. With ads Opera is as slow or slower than Netscrape. Without, it is as fast or faster than Konqueror.

Try this downloader for X. Program also supports RESUMING if server side supports it too. It is like kgetfor linux and ReGet or GetRight for Bill

Gates' OS.
