Unhappy An any one help me


Can any bodu help me.Iam a Linux newbie.I have installed fedora core -2 on my system.
In our network we have solaris server.Iam unable to open to open the display of solris server on my system.I hve used the folloeing commands:
xhost + 10.10.1.4(iP of server) at my bash prompt
after logging in to solaris with telnet
at server prompt :
setenv DISPLAY 10.140.1.67:0.0 (my Ip address)
it gives a error that xserver cnanot be contacted.

I think you need to man xhost to understand what it does and can do, etc as it appears your going about it all wrong. And you should look into using rdesktop or vnc instead, much easier to use, etc.

And you should really use better thread titles in the future, yours quite frankly is lame and I'll ask you now to make better ones that actually describe your problem.

thanks for ur advice but its a solaris server it don't have any vnc server running and they don't allow people to connect through rdesktp also because it supports a large no users about 50 at a time are always working on it.I have to use matlab installed on that system...so i have to open display for my system....please help...
