aMSN "Unreachable host" message

I want to use MSN messenger in Linux. I saw on forum to try aMSN or GAIM, but on Gaim I get 'protocol not supported' message, and on aMSN I get "Error connecting to server : couldn't open socket, host is unreachable". I check default parametars, and that is messenger.hotmail.com:1863 in both programs (by default). In aMSN I get this message even if I try to update program, somehow program don't see that I am connected on Internet. I downloaded tls 1.4 and put it in ~/.amsn/plugin directory. Also, I try connection using HTTP protocol (80), then without SSL... but I got same result. Thanx for answers. Bye.

Hi
aMSN works flawlessly with msn for the moment so no problem there. You didnt say whether you used a slackpack or source, if you used a slackpack then compile it from source.

I compiled it from source, but meanwhile, problem disappear! I really don't know how, cause I'm pretty sure that I didn't change anything. Maybe it was connected with restart or something like that. And you are right, it works perfect . Bye.
