alloywm config

Dear All,
I am using alloywm window manager for my x11. I like the small memory requirement of it. anyway.

I would like to know
1) how to put up the background wallpaper as alloywm starts up. (qiv -my <file name> does it. But how can I automate it with the alloywm startup?)
2) There are some goodies supplied with alloywm.
How to put the shortcut icons on the desktop of x-window?

add the qiv command to ~/.xinitrc
