Sorry, but in FLOSS, this is a way to contribute and its also how forks happen when needed. A unique feature of LQ is the preponderance of dev's actively involved, whereas on other fora you have users.

I get that. And I think people should fork if they feel the need. But sitting around talking trash about various distros because of them using their own right to freedom is a weak move. Get over it, fork it, and move on. Why must people continue to beat the dead horse.

Your free time is your free time and you can use it the way you prefer. Instead of starting a new distro, is there any reason you don't want to contribute to other distros? I would suggest you to contribute to Void. It is systemd free.
