After reboot LVM2 partitions will not mount

Im running gentoo with the 2.6.8 kernel. I setup LVM2 from this gentoo howto
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/lvm2.xml
it worked fine I used it for days until i had to reboot..

trying to mount /dev/vg/movies to /mnt/movies it tells me

mount:speical device /dev/vg/movies does not exist

no clue what to do. dm-mod is running. when i do vgscan it tells me it found volume group vg.
