advice about secure remote login
hello people, I'm looking for some advice on what to do.

in my home network I have a desktop running RH and a laptop with W98SE (I have also installed RH but I usually use windows). I use the desktop mainly through samba and telnet, always inside the network.

the fact is that I'm gonna spend some months abroad so I put wuftpd to share my files and now I dont know if I can continue using telnet or is really as insecure as it seems.

do you think I should install any other application to replace telnet? which one? I read a bit about ssh but I don't know if there is any other more recomendable.

as you can see i'm a perfect :newbie: so any information would be very appreciated.
thank you very much
