Adding Vista to an already installed Linux machine (dual boot)

is this possible? i have a separate harddrive ready to have vista installed on it. my ubuntu is on /dev/sda and my vista would go on sdb. how will i manage to add vista? i read that installing windows will erase my GRUB.. but would this still happen if it's on another hard drive?

Yes, it will erase the MBR. To fix it, all you need to restore grub is a linux LiveCD. Boot the liveCD and follow the steps in section B5 of this post. Of course, change /dev/hda4 to the appropriate partition.
