Adding and removing an application for a specific user


I want an application to become available for me and not for the other user that use my computer. how will i do this?

You would install it under that particular users /home directory, rather than under the system wide /usr directory.

That is easy enough to do with source packages or binary tar.gz, but might be a problem if you want to use your distribution's dedicated package manager.

Or you may be able to make the application binary owned by your, and only readable/executable by you. Can't advise if this will work without knowing to which application you referring.
