Adding a new category in gnome menu
Desktop Invironment = "Gnome 2.8"
I know this is realy easy but I can't find it. I know I have to edit the .dekstop files in share/applications to create a new entry in a category, but what I want is to create a new category via command line. For example: Currently we have Launch --> Applications --> Category (i.e. Office, Accessibility, etc) What I am trying to do is create a new category, something like this: Launch --> Applications --> New Items --> Program 1 Launch --> Applications --> New Items --> Program 2 Launch --> Applications --> New Items --> Program 3 Anyone any ideas? It has to be via command line! Many Thanks Ricardo W. Desktop |
Open up the filebrowser and type 'applications:///' in the address bar, In slackware 10 there is a small bug where by when you create a folder or launcher it doesn't appear until you log out and back in, don't know if this exists with other distos
