add a new section to your X config file

Could someone please explain this message and how to fix it?
Thanks in advance!

Composite extension not found
You must use XOrg ≥ 6.8 for translucency and shadows to work.
Additionally, you need to add a new section to your X config file:
Section "Extensions"
Option "Composite" "Enable"
EndSection

As near as I can tell, you're trying to use a feature (window translucency and shadows) which are not enabled in your x-server.

As the message says, you need to be using XOrg 6.8 or greater. Then you have to manually edit the x org config file and add
Code:
Section "Extensions"
Option "Composite" "Enable"
EndSection
Then restart X (CTRL+ALT+Backspace usually works).

I just want to make sure I edit the right file. Do you know the location of it?

I don't use Xorg (I'm running Debian Sarge which still uses XFree86), but the config file should be in /etc/X11. Mine is named XF86Config-4, I assume yours is something like XorgConfig...

/etc/X11/xorg.conf (one typical scenario)
