adaptec scsi driver problems

I'm running redhat 8.0 (2.4.18-14 kernel) on a Dell Precision 670 workstation and want to upgrade the kernel to 2.4.20-28. Unfortunately there is no support for adaptec 7902 controllers built in to this kernel.
I've installed the rpm for the new kernel and loaded the rpm from adaptec with what they say are the proper drivers. The rpm from adaptec loads with no errors. On rebooting I get unresolved dependency errors and insmod fails to load the new aic79xx driver. Does anyone out there have any Idea where I can get a functional aic79xx module? I've downloaded the source, but it fails to build correctly
(missing dependencies I think)... Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Wolfe

Have you tried downloading the kernel source, and compiling it yourself? And maybe then install the driver?
