Question Accessing windows files from Linux

I"m trying to find the proper command to mount a windows file system onto linux so I can access certain files located on my windows partition.
From my understanding (which is shaky at best) the command is mount /dev/hdc3 /mnt/win
well with that I got the error NTFS not supported...is there anybody that can clue me in on how this is done?

You need to recompile your kernel for NTFS support it is under filesystem section in the kernel confguration, for questions regarding recompiling kernel peruse http://www.tldp.org and search here as well as at http://www.google.com/linux

Yes... thats right. Visit askShadowMan of Redhat Inc, this month, it teaches how to do this in Redhat 8.
