accessing windows

Wondering if there is a way to access my windows LAN (a shared folder on one machine) thru the internet, thru my linux box?

Search for tutorials about "Samba".
Samba is included in most distros.

Samba is great for a connected LAN but wont help me thru the internet.....I need this

work computer---->internet---->my linux box----->windows computer

Couldn't you set up a VPN on the linux box and use samba to mount the windows drive? Then connect to the network through openVPN or hamachi and browse to the windows box?
