Accessing Fat drives as User
No matter what I do with CHMod I can't access my windows formatted drive as user. I can access them all I want as root. I don't really wanna switch my whole 3.9 gig MP3 gig directory of MP3's to Linux, as it'll kinda fill up my linux partition. That and there are other things I'd like to be able to access, especially using WINE. Any idea's? ls -ln shows that they are readable by all but when I try to switch to them it says access denied. I'm at a loss. Thanks in advance for anyone that can help.

If you're mounting your FAT32 partitions via an /etc/fstab entry use these options in the 4th field of the relevant entry
umask=000,defaults

I had the same problem this weekend after installing Slackware, check your fstab file in /etc.
here's a copy of of the line I use for my remaining vfat partition:
/dev/hda5 /mnt/d vfat user,noauto 0 0
The important part is user (or users, check the man page for more info). The noauto is because I prefer mounting it manually when I need it, you might prefer using auto if you use your vfat partition often. And of course, the device (/dev/hda5) and mount point (/mnt/d) are for my system, adapt the values to yours.
Do a man fstab to know more.

Tried but no go
Tried it but it's a no go, following is a copy of my fstab.
/dev/hda1 / ext2 defaults 1 1
/dev/hda2 /windowsxp vfat user,auto 1 0
/dev/hdb1 /fat1 vfat user,auto 1 0
/dev/hdc1 /fat2 vfat user,auto 1 0
/dev/hdc5 /fat3 vfat user,auto 1 0
/dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom iso9660 noauto,owner,ro 0 0
/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy auto noauto,owner 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
Looks right to me but this is me I don't know.
