Accessing ext3 file systems under Kernel 2.0.xx

Is there any way to access ext3 file systems with the kernel 2.0.xx series? I'm making a linux rescue distribution that fits on 1 floppy disk, and i'd like to use kernel 2.0.xx as it uses less space.
