Access linux from windows

I can access windows partition from linux but how do I do the reverse? Not that I use MS often (and I'm gonna try to work via wine) but when I do I'd like to access my home partition.

I've found some info stating that an x-server for windows is required. Another mail stated that I could use explore2fs (http://uranus.it.swin.edu.au/~jn/linux/explore2fs.htm), but it doesn't work with XP (which I use)...

Does anyone know what to do, if there's a program that does the trick?
/Thanks

there are a few others similar to that... but generally don't bother. use a fat32 partition to share common data between the two operating systems. those tools should only be used in emergencies at best, better still would be never.

I have a NTFS just for the M$ software (security reasons) and two FAT32 partitions for sharing. It's just that sometimes when I'm in M$ I need to check a log file or so in linux, i.e. reboot.

But if explore2fs works with XP I'll definetely give it a try!

explore2fs works fine from XP.
You might discover that explorer get a tendencie to crash a bit more often, or maybe it's just natural behaviour for it.

You can also find a program there that lets you mount linux-partitions under ntfs.
So far it's only crashed my XP a lot more than normal.
But give it a try if you really need access to them.
My pc got only one partition with ntfs and that's the boot for xp. the rest is shared with fat32.

*can't remember what's normal when it comes to crashes in XP*
It's a time since i've used it for anything else but games

Yeah, I know what you mean. It feels weired watching the winlogo everytime i boot into windows. I don't use it for much, so it feels as if I'm slowly moving over totally to Linux (just have to figure out how to get some programs going under Linux). On the other hand it's good to be able to boot into Win when I f**k up in Linux so I can go online and ask what I did wrong!

I'll install the explore2fs when I log in to windows next time (could be a while) and keep my fingers crossed!
