Absolute Linux

Anybody use Absolute Linux? Just wondering?

Yes, used it for a couple of years....Paul Sherman the developer does a fantastic job coding and making Absolute something average joes like myself can use. The latest iso file is old so there are tons of updates if you choose to download it and try it out....

Absolute is based off Slackware with icewm. Its great for older machines but also will rock on newer cpus...try it out.

. . . it is a great way to jump into Slackware-based linux and see how it works. I functions extremely well and is worth the install.

In fact, I put it on an old 2.8GHz P4 machine with a gig of unbuffered RAM and let a friend who prides himself in his skills with Windows have it just to let him see how quick and functional Linux can be. Haven't heard back from him yet, but will let anyone interested know, if desired.
