A rant w/o questions (was: ZorinOS)

Zorin OS is not prepared for true Newbies !!
Probably, it lacks Wubi.
Who knows, how to prepare partitions for linux, is not a true newbie,
especially the Windows Users.
All people interested in simply use their computers are FORCED (!!)
by Microsoft to use Windows OS.
I am mathematician, and I managed to install Ubuntu without any ingerention into HD partitions, and saving Winows (already installed.
Short investigaion lets me know, that there is WUBI programme,
that lets you install any Linux distro (except of Zorin OS !!)
without loosing Windows.
Please, don't force ordinary people, to touch partitions,
because Linux still will be thought of, that it is OS for skilled programmers only.
Now I can live without Windows, it is possible ! [EMAIL ADDRESS REMOVED]

As there are no questions in your first post I bring to your attention you can have your own web log at LQ.
That is the best place to post your rants next time.
OK?

Nope, if you install Linux like you would do with Windows (as single OS on a computer) then the installer will take care of the partitioning, also if you just choose the "alongside Windows" option when it comes to partitioning. You don't need to do anything manually.

Then your investigation was to short. Wubi is only available for Ubuntu. So Zorin is not an exception here because it can not be installed with Wubi, Ubuntu is the exception because it can.

Also, wouldn't it be more logical to complain to the Zorin developers instead of registering on a (very good) random forum for ranting about Zorin? Or at least post this on the Zorin forum?

If you're still here... Who knows how to prepare partitions? People who are not too stupid or too lazy to read the instructions, that's who.

I'd like to say welcome. Never thought a rant could get solved! :)

Wubi is both loved and hated. Wubi can be used for other distro's too. One can even move wubi isntall to a flashdrive. Personally I never use it and don't care for it but I see it's use.

We would have been more than welcome to try to assist you in any distro you wanted to try. We may have suggested a different one or a different way.

Consider using a free virtual machine to try linux versions. It is a free, easy and safe way to run both windows and linux at the same time.
