a RAM check program?

When i was using SUSE -now i use Fedora-there was a program, which could be used to check if your RAM was defective. Can you name it -or another one? Does it take too long? i think it is a liitle bit time consuming.
Thanks

It would have been memtest as previously posted - SuSE stick it into the bootloader on the CD and within grub by default. Is the tech support's best friend for hardware problems
