Hello,
When I boot my Red Hat 6.0 system on IBM 380z laptop and it goes thru a series of checks before I get the login prompt, I also see the foll: Is there a need to be concerned? /dev/hda1: was not cleanly unmounted, check forced this happens for a fewe other drives as well. I would appreciate any help on this. Thanks for you time :-) |
This usually indicates you are not shutting down the machine properly. How are you shutting down the machine each time?

re: improper shutdown
I think that also happens if you forget to unmount a removable drive (ie: cdom, zip) before shutting down. I am still a raw newbie so I could be wrong about this.

If you shutdown properly using either the shutdown command or the menus in the graphical login prompt,
then all devices are unmounted inkluding floppy, cd-rom, etc. |
