A Few minor problems...

1) when I browse to a folder on my server, it doesnt load index.php as default, how can I set this so that if index.php is in the folder it will automatically load it?

2) I want to edit the crontabs file to run an application every 15 minutes, but when I enter 'crontab -e' to edit the file, It opens as read only and I cant edit the file at all. I've tried but as root and as a normal user.

Hope someone can help

1. In your apache httpd.conf, find the line

DirectoryIndex index.html index.php

It shows the order of files that are opened by default.

2. Find your crontab file, edit it with your favorite editor and then run 'crontab -e' to reload the crontab file (just exit the editor when it opens)

You usuallay find the crontab file in /etc/crontab or /var/spool/crontabs (I don't know redhat)
