a command to find out my default gui mode


I need to write a script in that I need to find out what is my defauld GUI mode (KDE GNU etc) can any body tell me how to do this

Just a commnd to find my default GUI mode

hi,
you can find your default running GUI mode by checking /etc/sysconfig/desktop file

Thanks but what if the the user inwork the GUI interface from the command line. Then if I want to run a script there in GUI, then I want to find out the GUI inter face loged in. is there a command or a way of doing this.
