Exclamation A challenge - See how quick you can do this.

I require a custom calendar made in any type of spreadsheet application (I use OpenOffice.Org 2.0. It is actually a backup schedule and requires to be set up as follows:

There are 19 tapes.
There are 8 'Daily' Tapes (that is Daily1, Daily2 etc) covering Monday to Thursday for two weeks then rotating
There are 4 weekly tapes (Weekly1, Weekly2 etc) these are run 1-4 on every Friday unless it is superceded by a monthly tape.
There are 6 Monthly Tapes (Monthly1 etc, Which Fall on the last Friday of that Month and rotate
There is 1 FY06 tape, that is Financial Year End 2006 which falls on the last weekday of FY06 which in our country is March.

I have tried and failed to put this into a spreadsheet. Our fomat is Basically Months Across the top, Days of the month down the left hand side and the specific tape written in the cell unless it is a weekend which would be reflected by either Saturday or Sunday.

Just to make it a little more complex, for ease of readability we actually assign colours to the cells, so if anyone knows how to formulate that? Do I need to make a donation to get this one solved?

Thanks!

M

Please do not post contests or challenges for others to do work for you. Ask technical questions on how to do it but don't ask for the solution or you'll never learn. And why am I closing this thread you ask? Well, you stated about offering money to get others attention to find a solution for you, which is advertising so its been closed.

If you want responses and want to obey our rules, give better details on what your doing, what you've done, failures, etc. Do not post asking to challenge other users, offering money and so on.

And if you do decide to start another thread asking for help and not asking others to do the work for you, ask this question in General and not in the Linux forums, as its not a Linux technical question.

Regards.

And obey our rules you agreed to when registering: http://www.linuxquestions.org/rules.php
