I'm fairly new to linux. I have redhat 7.1, and i am having trouble with installing everything together. Want to setup a small bulletin board for me & a few friends, you may have heard of it - phpbb. I have to install php, apache, and mysql.
Now i have installed all three but the php entensions do not seem to work, when i try localhost/phpinfo.php so i am gathering that i did not install php properly, i also edited the httpd.conf so that it excepts php files but i still cant get it to work.
Would anybody like to tell me some instructions from scratch!
I could describe the configure, compile and installation of Apache with php, but I'ts already been done a dozen times on linux questions. Do a search on "apache php" and the results should tell you everything you will need to know.
Also the apache and/or the php installation and readme files are very detailed and will describe how to do it.
I managed to install all of them, and they seemed to have installed without any errors, but when i start apache and enter localhost in the web-browser a save dialog comes up instead of the page. If i save the page, and open is up as /usr/local/index.html it will display what is meant to be displayed...any idea's?
