Just installed RH 7.1 and bought a new video card to suppliment it. So far the system is running great. No major issues with 7.1 execpt for having to hunt down a few changed directories from 6.2. ;-)

But, now I want to use the power of my new video card. I want to run quake3 and other games from Loki that use 3d hardware acceleration. The only problem is that they dont or will not use it. My X is setup properly and runs fine, I think, because it detects the right video card as the voodoo card. But none of my programs that want to use the card find the drivers for the card. They say something to the affect of not being able to find voodoogl.so or something that ends with .so each time. Every source of info I have found about this says to download a few glide drivers from RH 7.0 and use them.

Two things. Is this safe to use drivers for 7.0? Anyone have any luck with this card in 7.1 (or any other similar distro for that matter)?

It sounds to me they need updated drivers like they say. It should be safe to use them, if its going to make it work and all. There really is only one way to find out right! :)
