2 gig /var partition already full after 3 weeks

It appears my 2 gig /var partition is already full on my Debian install. Any ideas on how to reduce this? What should I immediately delete and what logging should I try to limit to prevent this from occurring again? I have the following services running: Xfree86, cups, postsgresql, samba, apache.
Thanks

Well first of all you should try to find out which files are so big. Then you should either adjust your log rotations to get them to rotate more often (you are rotating your logs right?). Or you should try to get the process which is generating the logs to either stop generating logs or generate less logs.
You might also want to check the syslog configuration file to make sure it's not logging a bunch of debug messages which you don't really need anyway.

the beauty of multi-partitions. Now think, if it weren't for a /var partition, your root would have soon filled up...and that would be not good.

yep, sounds like a problem with logrotate (or lack of).
