2 gig limit for burning DVD

I have a video I shot that is an hour and 6 minutes long and 2.4 gigs in size.

Using 'Open Shot Video Editor' to put a tile on it and then export it.
Open Shot will load the file and let me edit it. When I try to export it I get a message saying the limit is 2 gigs. I can export it in .dvd format, but that does not play on the web.

I found some code that will extract a DVD and recode it to AVI, using 'mplayer' and 'mencode'.

So I burnt a DVD and 'mplayer' barfed when I started to extract it.

What software is used to handle large files? Google searches and support forum searches have not turn up much information.

Feed back would be appreciates.
Dave

This is a filesystem limitation for the iso9660 filesystem. Your choices are: split the file into chunks, or enable UDF support. Note that UDF support may cause the DVD to not be playable on all systems.
