In my school, i had kids as young as 10 talk at length about Linux installation, RPM's etc. I mean the kids are already into it.

So, 10 years from now, I see a big change in the market hold of M$.
Another change, not exactly in the OS market, wud be the commonness of LUG's.

i believe linux will take off because the sheer customizability gives everyone their own "unique" OS even though they share the same base kernel. linux is nice because you can change any part of the system to suit your needs. go linux!!

Age isn't a hinderance to Linux usage. I switched to Linux at age 59 in 1999 and found it much easier to manage than Windows as it is logical and configurable.

1 year from now...

2 year from now 2007 linux will be the most used platform in goverment arround the world

And the pc market will go the way of (for example Ubuntu)

PC's will come pre-istall with linux and pc sellers will star to tailor-configure all pc

You will order a PC and all the software will be pre-install ready to use if not with the click of a button you will install a server or a designe-tool or a game ...

And if you want WindowsXp then you will have to find some one that remembres how to install that stuff, by then it will cost about 5.00 Dll......

Or it will become OpenSource .......??????
