\ before space in filenames using gnome terminal ?

Does anyone know why or how I could fix gnome terminal outputing a \ before spaces in a filename ?

Basically if I have a filename with spaces like 'SC Asia Frame ex5.vsd' it will lool like this 'SC\ Asia\ Frame\ ex5.vsd' listed under gnome terminal.

Don't use spaces in Linux filenames.
