[Idea] Democratic Community Grid Computing for FOSS

Ok the fact of the matter is i am still a newbie when it comes to all things linux and grid/cluster/distributed computing but hear me out

I have read about SETI, Folding@Home, etc and am wondering if we the people who are only at the start of our linux journey or even experts could come together and form the world's 1st "Democratic Community Grid Computing" volunteer organisation?

Features

#1 Non profit and volunteer basis

#2 Primary role :
a) to quicken development of FOSS projects, software, OSes etc
b) to improve/add features to current FOSS projects, software, OSes etc
c) to port over, translate, emulate or even find new ways to bring apps/software from other OSes like Windows, Android, MacOS, etc to linux

#3) Client software able to run on linux, windows, android, etc

#4) Compute power to pass to grid includes CPUs (x86, ARM, PPC64) GPUs, RAM

#5) A "Grid Management Committee" (GMC) is elected/appointed to run a term (period to be decided)

#6) Volunteers/Members can submit/propose what projects to get into using the compute power of the grid

#7 The GMC shortlists projects which they deem worthwhile in the advancement of FOSS

#8 Volunteers/Members vote of which project to dedicate compute power to 1st (ranking)

#9 In times of crisis (cure for pandemic, etc) the GMC has powers to freeze FOSS projects if an organisation requests for assistance (via compute power) in problem solving and volunteers/members understand this!

Features of client software/movement

a) Two modes i.e compute scavenging mode (hand over resources when idle) or full on mode (say when you are about to sleep and leave the machine on)

b) its volunteer no profit, crypto, etc so wats in it for me?
Volunteers get invites to try out the fruits of their labour be it a new/improved FOSS OS, software, feature, etc

c) reinvent/improve grid/cluster computing. Have the people get more say in how to direct/invest resources and projects they would like to be part of, etc?

what say you?

I understand your thoughts and appreciate your plan of action as commendable. Unfortunately, in order to run on a Windows platform, some of the potential helpers, who are deeply interested in FOSS and are knowledgeable in coding, in the project, would be dubious in getting involved.

Normally, in my thoughts, when Windows coding experts get involved in any project, the project does not stay 'Democratic.'

I have no idea what you're proposing there - aren't ...@home projects for sharing raw computing power, more or less?
But you are talking about software development?
Isn't FOSS development already, well, shared, democratic, distributed?
