In order to make be able to access my RAID disc, I'm moving from gentoo-sources to ac-sources.
I installed gentoo-sources using genkernel and I was able too boot Linux.
Now I tried to configure ac-sources manually. It compiles and there're no errors, except that I get a kernel panic at boot:
A friend told me the error could be avoided by selecting multi processor support, which I did. However, still the same problem.
The kernel on the LiveCD only boots when I use the "smp" option.
This is my last configuration: .config from menuconfig.
After compiling, nvidia.o is complaining about unresolved smp functions. So I suppose I need to add SMP to it, like my friend told me to do. However, same crash as above, but with other numbers.
Could it be possible that kernel v2.4.22-ac1 doesn't support the VIA VT8377 Host Bridge ? I couldn't find an item for supporting the 83XX chips.
The VIA 82XX support is available.
